PAI GOW HOUSE WAYS

1. Play the Pairs.
2. Play Teen or Day with 7,8, or 9.
3. Play two small tiles that add up to 7,8 or 9 unless 3^rd & 4^th tiles are any combination 2-12-10-11 or 9-11.
4. Play the highest numerical value tile with the lowest numerical tile.

Exceptions:

1. Split Gee-Joon with 6-4,6-5,or 6-6.
2. Split 2 or 12 to make 6-8 or better, or 3^rd and 4^th tiles are 9-11.
3. Split 9’s with 10’s, 2 or 12.
4. Split 8’s with 10’s, 11’s, 2or 12.
5. Split 8’s when 3^rd and 4^th tiles are 9 and 11.
6. Split 7’s with 10’s, 11’s, 2 or 12. Must have a 2 or 12.

Play high 9 over Wong and Gong or Gong over Wong. When given a choice between a 2 or 12, play the 12 in the high hand, except when the 3^rd and 4^th tiles are 4,5-4,6-10,11.

Exceptions:

1. Play Wong over Gong when the 4^th tile is 11.
2. Play Wong over high 9 when the 4^th tile is 11.
3. Play Gong over high 9 when the 4^th tile is any 4 or when the 3^rd and 4^th tiles are low 8 and 5.

Make the second highest hand as high as possible. Play either two low tiles together to make a high hand of 8 or 9, or play a low tile with a high tile.

Exceptions:

When given a choice, always play the highest-ranking tile in the second highest hand if the hands total 7-9 or less. However, if the hands total 8-9 or more, play the highest-ranking tile on the high hand. (If hands total 7-8, and contain both a 2 and 12, play 12 on the high hand).
